The Habits of Keller

Holy Tuesday! I feel like I should have two seperate categories going here when I blog. One would be "The Various Sleeping Positions of Keller".

The second one would be "The Various Ways Keller Gets Out of Her Kennel". Notice THIS time both gates are in upright positions, but the one of the bottom is pried back from the doorframe. How the heck......

Both amaze me.

She is lonely...misses Dave who's in Chicago for work. She survived her first rounds of thunderstorms. No Marley...yet.....

Keller also helped Randy and me plant some of our cool crop veggies in the weather patio on Monday night. What a helper! And a whiner, and a supervisor...you get the idea. :)

Now you see me...and now you don't!

We don't allow Keller to chew on shoes, but this was too funny...I had to let it go on for a minute longer. We had just been talking about how she managed to stuff her snout in a McDonald's container she found out back, and then she found my shoe and shoved her snout all the way in it. Too silly.

We're working on the whole "warm weather" thing - Dave reminded me that she's never experienced it, so she doesn't know what it's like.

New! New! New!

New! 'Cause we're goofy and cool, we've added a video bar for you to watch Keller do...well...goofy stuff. Check it out....it's on the right-hand side. Just click and watch! :)

From Friday

From Chesterwoods Park on Friday, when we went canoeing. OMG, could I be wearing anymore sand right now?!?!?!?!

Funny Fotos

Keller decided it would be fun to knock the bottom gate out from the Fort of Keller in the bathroom yesterday. I was surprised to find her greeting me at the door when I came home for my (quick) lunch. She hadn't peed or pooped or destroyed anything...unlike last time...believe me...I momentarily panicked...but then it was too funny to not get a picture of it. I really have no idea how she managed that one. Notice the upper gate is still intact.

Of course, like any puppy, you just run her for an hour or two and she zonks out like the photo on the right.

One other picture from yesterday. Keller's taking a nap in the afternoon sun...

It's Raining Puppies

Dave and I had a Date Nite on Friday night and took Keller out canoeing. I'll get some pictures up later on that. The little stinker is getting used to being inside after being SPOILED by being outdoors all Thursday and Friday. We took her garage sale-ing this morning and that tuckered her out. Now it's been raining since late this evening...she reeks like a wet dog! I don't know if she reeks more tonight or after the excitement at the beach while canoeing yesterday (sand? FASCINATING)

This is her at the vet on Thursday. It's her look of doom. They're going to do what to me today?!?!?!

Spoiled by the Bunny(ies)

Keller has had WAY too much fun the past week or so. Between play dates with Santiago and meeting other dogs and people out on walks and being spoiled by the grandparents...she's doing good.

Easter was fun with her. The Easter Bunny came not once but TWICE! The Wisconsin one came a few days before Easter. Because I'm a sucker when it comes to chocolate and sweets, I dug open the box. I wasn't expecting to find anything for Keller, but there was a fun squid-looking squeaky toy for her! And "Marley and Me". And she thinks she gets the chocolate and candy too - look at her check that basket out!

Additionally, the Bloomington Easter Bunny stopped by. She got oodles of stuff...dog treats, a frisbee, another chew toy, a grass repair kit (oops...I mean we did!) and most ironically, the almost exact same squid thing! Those Easter Bunnies sure think alike!

She did great meeting all of Dave's family on Saturday night while I was at work. She even got to go out on the canoe with Dave and Marty and had a lot of fun. She did great when I was up there on Easter morning, too! She gets into her puppy phase but then she mellows out so quickly.

Today Keller was back to the vet and she's pushing 19 pounds. Woohoo! She got shots and her toes clipped a nice dental rawhide. I'll post pictures from that tomorrow.

Feed Me

Since we're nerds, we pay for what we get. Probably because we're genuinely concerned about what's going to go in Keller's mouth (aside from the mountain of trash outside. Although we're concerned about that too...duh!). RAGOM had given us a sheet on scored dog foods (and there are a lot of them) and also how to score your dog food. So that's just what Dave did. Sat down and calculated what the shelter gave us, what the vet gave us, pen, paper, and calculator in hand.

OK, so we are nerds...whatever. We scooped up Keller on Saturday
morning and ventured to PetCo to hunt down food. Keller had a hay day in the store. She also had a hay day in Petsmart. We didn't pick out a food, but we did a new Kong toy, and a harness to walk her since we don't like pulling on her neck.

Dave and Keller enjoyed a quiet weekend together while I worked. Apparently Keller likes to watch me while I'm on TV as Dave took
pictures of her watching me. Teehee....yesterday (Monday) was the first day I trusted her enough to not build the fort and only put up the two stacked dog gates. It worked, and she was still in the bathroom when I came home for lunch both yesterday and today. Woohoo!

Oh!!! On Sunday morning we took Keller over to Randy and Julie's to play with Duncan. I don't have pictures, but Duncan is this incredibly loveable 120 some pound yellow lab. It was amusing as hell watching Duncan run around and Keller work on overcoming her intimidation. Drew and Owen (their sons) got a kick out of Keller too...at least Drew did! Within a little bit, Keller was tearing around their backyard as fast as Duncan. It was so good to see her run
and jut let her run. Needless to say, she was pooped later that night!

Fun in Bloomington

Today's entry is best explained with pictures. Keller had a busy couple of days in Bloomington. Playing outside, hanging out with Grandma Ann, going to Dave's work, going to the vet, getting a bath! meeting people, and being overall cute, adorable, and so well behaved. Everyone she meets wants to take her home.

Mmm, a delicious whatever-deceased animal bone! Mwahahaha...:

Playing some good 'ol fetch...at least partial fetch:

All conked out after a long day in Bloomington!:
